Eublepharis macularius, or Leopard Geckos, are great beginner reptile pets as they are very resilient and their care is extremely easy, even for kids! A healthy Leopard requires little more than heat, a house, food, water and a clean tank.
They are smaller, gentle and well-dispositioned geckos that rarely bite. They are terrestrial which means they can't climb walls or glass like arboreal geckos, but they do like to explore by climbing rocks and logs.
Remember when choosing a Leopard gecko as a pet that it could live 10 to 20 years. This animal will be with you for a long time and you are responsible for its care.

Rhacodactylus ciliatus, or Crested Geckos, are very popular among reptile enthusiasts.
Perhaps it is their multitude of vibrant colours and comical yet captivating appearince, their soft and pliable crests, their sticky toes and tails, or their quiet, unassuming nature that captures hearts young and old. No matter the reason, rest assured, should you choose a Crested Gecko as your new pet, you are choosing well.
They are arboreal which means they require tall enclosures with plenty of room to climb and lots of foliage in which to hide.
Like Leopards, they are very well-dispositioned and very rarely bite. They can live beyond 20 years, so please be advised that, though their care is very simplistic, they are a commitment for which you must be prepared.
